DANCE SEASON INFORMATION

CLASSES

Our Season Classes run September to April, meeting one time per week. Dancers participate in a holiday performance in December & the annual recital performance to complete the season in April.

DRESS CODE

Specific dance shoes & attire are required for each style/age group. Click here for detailed information on dress code requirements. 

​

*Combination classes for 12 years & under, count as 1 class. 

*A minimum of five students per class must register in order to hold session.

TUITION​

Paid once per month for the duration of the season. 

One class................$50

Two classes.............$80

Three classes...........$110

Four classes............$140

Five classes..............$170

Six classes................$200

 

*Hip/Hop Jazz & Ballet/Tap combination classes are considered one class. 

CLASS OFFERINGS

Ballet/Tap Combination 

Ages 3-12​

​

In this class, students gain an understanding of the foundation and basic movements of both ballet and tap. 

Jazz/Hip Hop Combination

Ages 5-12 ​

​

In addition to being introduced to the basics of the styles of jazz and hip hop, students learn about rhythms and the way music can influence dance.

Poms

Ages 5+​

​

This class focuses on sharp motions using poms for visual effects. Students engage in team work, synchronization, and creativity. This class is a high energy, up beat experience. 

Ballet

Ages 13-18

​

Students will discover basic to advanced ballet technique. Flexibility, musicality and alignment are a primary focus of this class.  

​​Tap

Ages 13-18 

​

Students will learn basic to advanced tap skills, rhythmic patterns and the ancestry of tap dance.  

Jazz

Ages 13-18

​

This class focuses on proper jazz technique including alignment, flexibility, leaps and turns. 

Lyrical

Ages 13-18

​

This class focuses on storytelling through dance, jazz and contemporary technique and advanced leaps and turns. *Dancers must also be enrolled in ballet or jazz. 

Hip Hop

Ages 13-18​

​

This class focuses on energetic and athletic dance. Students learn isolations and how to freestyle in addition to learning choreography.

Pre-Pointe & Pointe

Ages 13-18

​

Students must be 13 years of age, have a minimum of 2 years of ballet training at Studio 170 and undergo an evaluation for instructor approval.

​

Pointe focuses on performing the movements and exercises of ballet, while on pointe shoes. 

Class Placement

For weekly classes scheduled September - April, student placement will be determined by many factors including: age, skills assessment and maturity.
